Thanks to everyone who took part in the Africa Innovation Hubs Web Gathering live link up with the Open Knowledge Festival in Helsinki sharing learning on the potential of open data for technical innovation and application development.
Africa Live! Live broadcast between Helsinki and Africa’s innovation and technology hubs - 20 of Africa’s innovation and technology hubs engaged with and debated the value of open data for development. Featuring presentations from John Ndungu of iLabAfrica and Code4Kenya - a collaborative initiative of The World Bank Nairobi office, iHub, @iLabAfrica, Africa Media Initiative (AMI) and Kenya ICT Board, Barbara Birungi from HiveColab Uganda, Oluseun Onigbinde of BudgIT in Nigeria and Linet Kwamboka from the Kenya Open Government Partnership.
There was also an open discussion on the role of technology and innovation hubs in development addressing the question 'can technology drive development?'
