The Africa Hubs Web Gathering on Thursday 6th June 2013 looked at successful ways to incubate tech start ups used by tech hubs across Africa.
Dr Gordon Day, Past President of the IEEE began with an introduction to the work of IEEE supporting technologists across the world.
Looking at a range of applications and innovative ventures, the latest in the series of Africa Hubs Web Gatherings heard from Al Banda from ActivSpaces in Cameroon and Michael Szymanski from MEST in Ghana.
The meeting was hosted by Lukonga Lindunda from Bongohive in Zambia.
The presentations focussed on their successful models for incubating start ups, nurturing innovation to produce sustainable ventures. There were also contributions from the floor with examples of supporting social entrepreneurs to create sustainable social business.
