In the last of our series of meetings we explored ways to engage women and girls in technology, Aida Opoku Mensah Director, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa: ICT, Science and Technology Division talked about the obstacles to participation faced by women and girls.

We also had presentations from the Tech Hubs on initiatives and activities that they have carried out to engage women and girls which featured Oreoluwa Somolu of W.Tec Nigeria Barbara Birungi of WITUganda, Judith Owigar of Akirachix in Kenya, and Catheringrose Barretto of The Kinu, Tanzania.

The discussion will focussed on why it is important to bring more women and girls into the field of technology and how this work can be replicated across the tech hub world.
